Government 'forcing through new laws', say Opposition
02/07/2009 - 11:08:24The Government has been accused of deliberately rushing pieces of legislation through the Dáil without sufficient debate.
The Dáil is to sit late tonight in order to push through three separate pieces of legislation, including the Criminal Justice Miscellaneous Bill.
Opposition parties have criticised the Tánaiste for use of “guillotines” in the Dáil this morning, saying the legislation needs to be debated properly.
Labour leader Eamon Gilmore has described the situation as "ludicrous".
