Dáil passes motion apologising for child abuse
28/05/2009 - 12:53:57The Dáil has passed an all-party motion apologising to the victims of child abuse and accepting all the recommendations of the Ryan Report.
The motion was agreed without debate today, but TDs are still planning to hold a two-day debate on the issue later this month.
Today's motion also called on the religious congregations involved in child abuse to make a substantial contribution to a trust for the victims.
