Six newcomers have been included in the Ireland team to play Canada on Saturday.

The first game of the summer tour will see Connacht captain John Muldoon and openside Niall Ronan starting in the back row in Vancouver.

Outhalf Ian Keatley will be feeding an all-Ulster centre pairing of Darren Cave and late call-up Ian Whitten, while Munster winger Ian Dowling makes his test debut on the left.

Another five potential new caps have been named on the bench, while Bob Casey is also set to end a nine-year gap since his last cap, which he also earned against Canada.

The squad will be without players selected for The British and Irish Lions squad, who are training in England.
