Decent gains for ISEQ
20/05/2009 - 11:43:09The Irish Stock Exchange was doing well by mid-morning today, with the ISEQ index of Irish shares up 16.76 points to 2.762.95.
The financial sector continued its recent resurgence, with Bank of Ireland faring the best, climbing 18c to €1.52. Irish Life and Permanent did well, up 15c to €3.15. Allied Irish Banks gained 9c to €1.25.
It was a mixed day for the food and drink sector, with Glanbia down 14c to €2.10. Donegal Creameries was down 10c to €2.15, with C&C up 10c to €2.18.
It was similarly mixed in the construction sector, with CRH losing 40c to €18.20 and Kingspan climbing 34c to €5.10.
Elsewhere, Tullow Oil was up 42c to €11, with FBD improving 25c to €6.60.
