Pedestrian dies after being hit by car
18/03/2009 - 08:54:26A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car, gardaí said today.
The man, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene, near Ballina, Co Mayo at 10.30pm.
The N59 road at Quignalecka is closed and gardaí have asked motorists to avoid the route.
“The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Mayo General Hospital,” said a Garda spokesman.
An 18-year-old man also died after being hit by a truck on the main street in Bundoran shortly after midnight.
