Mother and son still in hospital after Drogheda fire

A Co Louth mother and son remain in separate hospitals in Dublin today following a fire at their house in Drogheda on Monday.

The blaze at the McDonagh house in the Moneymore estate claimed the life of three brothers, eight-year-old James, 16-year-old Tony and 21-year-old Martin.

Their mother Kathleen is being treated at St James Hospital in Dublin where his condition is described as satisfactory.

Another son, 13-year-old Eddie who was injured when he jumped from the window of the house, is in a stable condition at Temple Street Hospital in Dublin.

Their father Anthony was discharged from hospital yesterday.
