Sheridan and Oldham part company

Oldham have confirmed they have parted company with manager John Sheridan.
After a week of controversy surrounding the club, including a number of alleged incidents following a team night out at Belle Vue dog track, the club announced the decision following talks with former Republic of Ireland international Sheridan.
The Latics were hammered 6-2 by promotion hopefuls MK Dons yesterday despite taking the lead on two separate occasions.
Despite lying in eighth position, just a point away from Tranmere in the play-off zone, they are three games without a win and will now be looking to pick up enough points to make the play-offs from their remaining nine games of the season.
