New visa regulations come into force for US visitors
12/01/2009 - 11:00:11New visa regulations come into force today for people planning a trip to the United States.
From now on, visitors will have to provide their personal details online at least 72 hours before they depart.
They will then know in advance whether they will be allowed to enter the country.
The cost-free process applies to all countries covered by the US visa waiver scheme, including Ireland.
