Businesses in North suffering more than rest of UK
12/01/2009 - 09:48:33Businesses in the North are suffering more as a result of the recession than their counterparts in the rest of the UK, according to figures out today.
Ulster Bank says firms in the North recorded the steepest contraction in output during 2008 and paid off staff at a much greater rate than elsewhere in the UK.
It says all sectors registered falls in business activity in the month of December, but the overall decline was slightly less than that recorded in November.
