Taylor advances in World Championships
Katie Taylor got her World title defence off to a perfect start with an emphatic 20-3 preliminary round victory over Australian lightweight Emma Carruthers at the 5th AIBA Women's World Chamionships at the Ningbo Youngor Gymnasium in Ningbo City, China this morning.
The Bray woman, the current World, European and European Union champion, will now meet Danusa Dilhofava of the Czech Republic in the last sixteen on Tuesday morning.
Dilhofava beat Turkeys Gonca Yilmaz 12-0 this morning.
Tuesdays last 16 bout should take place between 8am and 10am (Irish time).
The 60Kg (lightweight) final will be held next Saturday.
