Possible link between two armed robberies in North

Police in the North are investigating two armed robberies overnight, which they believe may have been carried out by the same gang.

The first incident happened at a petrol station on Clifton Street in North Belfast at around 7pm, when two robbers entered the shop, armed with a handgun and stole a sum of cash.

The second robbery happened at a shop on the Antrim Road, when staff were held at gunpoint.

It's understood a struggle broke out and one of the robbers was punched in the face by a customer.
