Park body: Death not suspicious
The death of a man whose badly-decomposed body was found among heavy undergrowth in a park was not suspicious, gardaí confirmed today.
Detectives have also appealed for a member of the public who spotted the remains in an area of St Anne’s Park, Raheny, north Dublin, to come forward.
Gardaí said the body appeared to have been in the undergrowth for a considerable time.
The scene was sealed off pending a technical examination and the State Pathologist’s office has been notified.
A garda spokesman later confirmed the man’s death was not suspicious.
“Gardaí at Raheny are anxious to speak to the person who discovered the body in St Annes Park,” he added.
“The call was made by a man from a public phone box on the north side of Dublin at approx 9pm last night.”
Investigations are ongoing.
