Archbishop calls on whole society to combat violence
05/06/2008 - 17:42:22The Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin is calling on all sectors of Irish society to work together to combat violence.
Launching a paper on the subject today, Archbishop Martin said there is a need for greater support structures for victims of violent crime.
The paper is critical of sections of the media, which it says glamorises violent criminals.
Archbishop Martin wants to see a more community based approach developed to tackle the problem.
