Affleck’s stunning directing debut (which he also co-wrote) – about the search for a missing baby, left alone by her partying mother – finally comes to our screens after he delayed its release because of the on-going search for little Maddy McCann.
And what a thoughtful, polished debut it is: a film full of twists and hidden truths slowly revealed as private eye (Affleck) investigates.
Nothing in this excellent thriller disappoints … Affleck, the director, and Affleck, the actor, bring us one of the year’s most compelling dramas.
