Rambo was a successful character created by Stallone in several previous films, but the all-action, explosions ‘n mayhem plots – such as they were – were never meant to be taken seriously.
They merely held the action, explosions and mayhem together. As does this latest offering … don’t take it seriously – face it, the guy should be carrying a Zimmer and not a rocket-launcher – just enjoy the sheer daftness of it.
Our creaking hero is off once again on a one-man rescue mission, it’s not rocket science but, surprisingly, it’s a lot of fun.
Even Sly knows not to take it seriously.
