Man and woman fighting for lives after weekend crashes

Two people are fighting for their lives in hospital this morning following separate road accidents in Co Laois and Co Galway yesterday.

A man is in a critical condition following a collision between a car and a truck on the N8 at Clonad in Co Laois, which also left three other people needing hospital treatment.

In Co Galway, meanwhile, a 29-year-old woman was seriously injured when the car she was driving left the road near Tuam.
