Polish man dies after being hit by car in Galway

A 50-year-old Polish man has died after being struck by a car during a road accident in Co Galway yesterday evening.

Two cars were involved in the accident, which happened on the Caheryon Road near Athenry at around 7.30pm.

The man's name is being withheld until next of kin are informed.
