NIB calls for talks to avert Argos strike action

The National Implementation Body is appealing to both sides in the Argos dispute to engage in urgent discussions in an effort to avert industrial action.

Staff members attached to the Mandate trade union are due to picket the company's 31 Irish stores tomorrow in pursuit of a 10% pay claims.

They say they are currently earning an extremely low wage of €9-an-hour and have apologised to any shoppers that will be affected by the action.
