Argos workers to strike after talks break down

A strike at Argos stores around the country is set to go ahead after talks between management and union representatives broke down this evening.

Members of the Mandate trade union, which represents about half of all Argos staff, will mount a one-day picket at the company's 31 stores this Saturday.

The row centres on union demands for a 10% pay rise and the ability to continue to negotiate pay outside the remit of the 2016 Partnership Agreement.
