RTE say no contact with govt was made over 'Late Late' axing
12/11/2007 - 17:59:17RTE has insisted that there was no contact between it and the Department of Health or the HSE in relation to last Friday’s 'Late Late Show'.
A statement released this afternoon by the organisation also insists that there was no contact between the Director General's Office in RTE and the 'Late Late Show' team.
The national broadcaster is repeating its insistence that the decision to axe Professor John Crown from a panel on the programme was taken by the show's makers, following concerns from RTE's Managing Director of Television that the panel lacked balance.
