Govt minister backs random drug tests for TDs
12/11/2007 - 07:37:48A Government minister has reportedly come out in support of random drug testing for TDs.
Junior Minister Conor Lenihan is quoted this morning as saying some politicians and other people in senior positions are habitual drug-takers.
He also says claims made in a recently published book that a senior minister is a regular cocaine user "could be true".
Minister Lenihan says Irish society needs to change its stereotypical views of those who abuse hard drugs.
