Militants free 121 kidnapped Pakistani soldiers
04/11/2007 - 17:12:36Militants today freed 211 Pakistani soldiers who were abducted near the Afghan border two months ago, the army’s top spokesman said.
The soldiers were freed through the efforts of a jirga, or a tribal council of elders, in South Waziristan, said Major General Waheed Arshad.
South Waziristan is a lawless tribal region where al-Qaida and Taliban-linked militants operate.
