Campaign aims to raise awareness of mental health

A new campaign to raise awareness of mental health issues has been launched to coincide with World Mental Health Day today.

Research shows that around 10% of Irish people suffer from life-long mental health problems.

Women over 35 are most at risk, while 19% of separated, divorced or widowed people and 17% of people who work in the home report such problems.

The National Office of Suicide Prevention says talking with family and friends is the best way to overcome these issues.
