Sentencing adjourned in Fianna Fail TD's tax fraud case
28/09/2007 - 17:47:59Former Fianna Fáil TD Michael Collins will know next month whether or not he will be jailed for tax fraud.
He was found guilty at Limerick Circuit Court today of falsely declaring himself tax compliant in 2002.
The court heard that he would not have been able to take up office as a TD without the tax clearance certificate which was issued under the false pretence.
He had denied the charge.
Sentencing was adjourned until the ninth of October to allow time for the judge to consider the matter further.
