DPP to get file on alleged baby assault in Cork
28/09/2007 - 07:48:50Gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP in connection with an alleged assault on an eight-month-old baby boy.
The infant was hospitalised with head injuries following an incident at his home in the Carrigaline area of Cork last month.
He spent several weeks in intensive care, but is now in a comfortable condition.
The Gardaí were alerted after doctors expressed concern that his injuries didn't match the explanation given by his parents.
Yesterday, Gardaí arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with the case and questioned him for 12 hours.
He has since been released pending instructions from the DPP.
