Rangers pair back in action
Rangers pair Thomas Buffel and Ugo Ehiogu have made their comebacks from injury in a behind-closed-doors match against Queen of the South.
Buffel has not played since January 21 after undergoing surgery on both knees earlier this year but the 26-year-old Belgian midfielder is closing in on a first-team return.
Centre-back Ehiogu, 34, is fit again after an Achilles injury.
Both were involved as Rangers won 2-0 thanks to goals from Chris Burke and Alan Gow, two players who have struggled to make an impact on the first team this season.
Meanwhile Rangers will play their CIS Insurance Cup third-round with East Fife at East End Park on September 26.
East Fife, who top Irn-Bru Division Three, have opted to move the match away from their 2,000-capacity New Bayview stadium to Dunfermline’s home, which can hold up to 12,000 supporters.
