Gardaí treating death of Laois man as murder
21/08/2007 - 07:31:32Gardaí investigating the death of a 55-year-old man at a house in Co Laois on Sunday night have formally upgraded the case to a murder inquiry.
Father-of-four Patrick Burke was found dead at his home in the village of Ballybrittas late on Sunday.
A post mortem revealed that he died as a result of multiple blows to the head.
Mr Burke's wife is being treated for injuries she sustained in the incident, but her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
