Ambassador's son in sexual assault allegations
19/08/2007 - 10:03:09The Maltese ambassador to Ireland has resigned after his son became embroiled in a diplomatic immunity row.
Richard Muscat's son Massimo is at the centre of two sexual assault allegations. His father insists Massimo is innocent of any wrong-doing.
It had been reported that the ambassador had invoked diplomatic immunity after Massimo was accused of attacking the women in a south Dublin suburb last October.
Mr Muscat denies the claim.
