The Small Firms Association has said that training is key to the success of people who run their own business.

A survey of owner-managers conducted for the SFA has revealed one third have not undergone training in the last twelve months.

Of those who had, the average expenditure was less than €5,000, just a third of the EU average.

In a statement, the SFA recommended targeting training to achieve key business objectives or optimum return for business people.
