Shannon get better of UCD

Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery saw second half action as Shannon got the better of UCD at Thomond Park.
Watched by Ireland forwards coach Niall O'Donovan, substitute Flannery played 40 minutes in a bid to prove his fitness for the Six Nations.
Shannon led 17-8 at the break with Tony Buckley (9 minutes), Stephen Kelly (14) and John Clogan (39) notching tries. Out-half Ian Keatley touched down for the visitors.
A converted 43rd-minute try from prop Brian McGovern gave UCD every chance of an upset but Shannon grabbed a bonus point win with Andrew Finn and Fergal Walsh both scoring.
