Limerick 0-9 UCC 0-6

Limerick await the winners of tomorrow night's semi-final between Cork and UL, after they won through to their third McGrath Cup final in four years today.

Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's side did just enough to beat UCC 0-9 to 0-6 and book their place in the decider, which will take place next Sunday.

Wind-assisted, the Shannonsiders led 0-4 to 0-2 by the end of the first half in rain-lashed conditions in Newcastle West.

Cork's Brendan Jer O'Sullivan, the star performer for UCC, got an early point but the supply line to him was soon cut off as Limerick established a stranglehold on possession.

Darren Horan nosed over two points for Limerick as thunder and lightning threatened.

O'Sullivan finished with a tally of 0-3, while Brian Mulvihill, the Tipperary county player, notched 0-2 for the students, but Limerick proved too strong with Horan, Michael Crowley and substitute Micheal Reidy hitting 0-2 apiece.
