Heavy winds cause major disruption at air and seaports

Heavy winds are causing disruption at seaports and airports today, with several flights and ferry sailings affected by the stormy conditions.

Dublin Port has was forced to place restrictions on incoming and outgoing vessels for a time because of the stormy conditions.

Irish Ferries has also cancelled a number of sailings across the Irish Sea, while Aer Arann, Aer Lingus, Ryanair and other airlines have been forced to ground several flights.

Passengers are being urged to ring ahead to find out if their services have been affected.
