Three quizzed in connection with alleged extortion racket
05/01/2007 - 16:05:15Three men were being questioned today about an alleged loyalist-paramilitary extortion racket in Co Antrim.
Detectives are working on intelligence that the Ulster Defence Association has been running a blackmail operation in Carrickfergus, sources disclosed.
They arrested a third man today after two others were held earlier, police said.
A PSNI spokeswoman confirmed all three were being quizzed as part of an inquiry into serious crime in the town.
