Man questioned in connection with tiger kidnapping

A man has been arrested in Co Tyrone in connection with a so called tiger kidnapping where bank or post office employees are held so their premises can be raided.

The 21-year-old man has been detained in Strabane, where there have been a number of armed robberies.

Police sources have indicated he is being questioned about the kidnapping of two women linked to a raid on a sub-post office in Strabane last October.

A substantial sum of money was taken and then left in a church car park across the border in Donegal.
