Kenny injury not serious
03/01/2007 - 10:43:03Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny is expected to be out for up to three weeks after a scan confirmed no serious injury to his groin.
Kenny pulled up early in the second half of Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal at Bramall Lane while taking a goal-kick, which led to midfielder Phil Jagielka taking over in goal for the closing 30 minutes.
Manager Neil Warnock confirmed: “Paddy has had his scan and there’s good news. There’s no tear, it’s a strain, and he’s going to be out for two to three weeks.”
Warnock is still on the look-out for short-term cover for current number one Paul Gerrard as Ian Bennett is also sidelined at present with a broken finger.
