Man held after elderly woman dies in Dublin crash

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man following a crash this morning in which an elderly woman lost her life.

The man was detained at the scene of the crash on the coast road between Portmarnock and Malahide.

The accident happened shortly before 10.30am and involved three vehicles.

A woman in her mid 80s died in hospital from injuries she sustained in the collision.

The road remains closed while gardaí carry out an investigation.
