Motorists advised to drive with caution due to high winds
29/12/2006 - 09:09:22Motorists have been advised to drive with extra caution this morning due to bad weather conditions across the country.
Heavy winds and rain are affecting most areas, with the east of the country being worst hit.
Many parts are experiencing gusts of over 100 kilometres per hour.
Met Éireann meteorologist Deirdre Lowe said the bad weather will be with us for until at least New Year's Eve.
“There's more very windy weather coming in this evening, and then it does look like the run-up into the New Year is going to continue with some very windy periods of weather, particularly on New Year's Eve.”
