Greens to put pressure on Govt over cost of living

The Green Party is expected to increase pressure on the Government in 2007 over the cost of living.

With just months to go before a general election, the party says rising energy costs are making Ireland uncompetitive and leaving home owners with outrageous fuel bills.

Green party leader Trevor Sargent says the cost of energy and heating bills is one of several issues the Government can expect a hard time over.

“The price of energy is on our minds because it's really transforming the cost of living for businesses and for people on a day-to-day basis,” he said.
