ISEQ in negative territory

The ISEQ-index of Irish shares seems to have run out of steam as activity on the trading floor stalled this morning following a promising start to the post-holiday week.

Shares had fallen by 29.70 points by 11am to stand at 9415.11.

Trading among financial heavyweights stagnated with both Anglo Irish and AIB dropping 12 and 21c to €15.70 and €22.65 respectively.

IL&P failed to make moves in any direction having rounded off at €21last night, meanwhile Bank of Ireland made modest gains of 4c to €17.45.
