BoI launches new 6% regular savings interest rate
27/11/2006 - 08:34:31Bank of Ireland has unveiled a new rate of 6% on new regular savings to its Special Bonus Saver Account.
The offer is open to all customers and is in response to the significant volume of matured SSIA holders, who are reported to be continuing their savings habit with the Bank.
The new variable rate will increase in line with anticipated ECB rate increases
Bank of Ireland said today that its own research shows 58% of matured SSIA customers under the age of 55 have stated they have continued to save the same amount or more since the end of the scheme.
So far, the Bank reports that the average monthly savings of matured SSIA customers has increased to €270, €16 more than the SSIA maximum of €254.
