Vivas considers taking over client base if BUPA pulls out

Health insurer Vivas is considering buying BUPA’s subscriber base if the British firm pulls out of the Irish market.

BUPA is due to meet the Minister for Health on its future in the Irish marketplace, after the High Court rejected its challenge to the government's risk equalisation scheme.

BUPA has a customer base of more than 460,000 people, which is valued at more than €200m.
