Uttoxeter gets go-ahead
23/11/2006 - 08:25:10This afternoon’s meeting at Uttoxeter goes ahead after the track passed an 8am inspection.
Heavy overnight rain left some areas of standing water on the track, forcing officials to take a look.
However, conditions have improved and the meeting will go ahead on ground officially described as heavy.
Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: “In the dark you can’t see the full extent of it and it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
“There was a risk of more rain between 6am and 8am but that has now passed and it was one of the factors we were looking at.
“The areas of standing water are drying up and it’s safe ground underneath so that will just drain away now.”
