Pride and Mandesha set to clash

23/11/2006 - 08:02:16
Stablemates Pride and Mandesha are set to clash in the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup at Sa Tin on December 10.

The Alain de Royer-Dupre-trained pair, who were Europe’s top-rated and leading three-year-old filly, have both been confirmed for the 10-furlong feature.

De Royer-Dupre told the Racing Post: “Mandesha will run against Pride. For the moment this is the plan but both must work well next week.

“Pride has a lot of experience but the weight-for-age allowance at this time of year is in favour of the three-year-olds.

“Without doubt there is a lot of emotion but we will try to finish the season in glory.”
