Minister in Morocco to assist in fishing trawler dispute
23/11/2006 - 10:38:57Junior Minister Pat the Cope Gallagher has arrived in Morocco to assist two Donegal trawler owners embroiled in a legal dispute.
The two vessels, the Aine 1 and Neptune 2, were seized at the weekend and are currently being held in the port of Dakla.
It is understood the dispute centres on issues of ownership, loans and mortgages.
The two trawlers owners, who are from the Dungloe area, had entered into a joint venture with a Moroccan fish processing factory.
A number of Irish crewmen are also stranded in Morocco.
