Alcohol a factor in four of 10 road crashes
23/11/2006 - 13:25:17Alcohol is a factor in four out of ten road crashes in Ireland, according to new research revealed at the launch of the Road Safety Authority's Christmas Anti Drink-Driving campaign.
This figure rises to over six out of ten when it comes to drivers in single vehicle collisions.
The figures are contained in the first ever national study into blood alcohol levels of road victims.
Weekends and Monday mornings are the main "kill zones" for alcohol related crashes.
