Two charged with burglary after Westmeath car chase

Two men have been charged with burglary after a high-speed garda chase in Co Westmeath yesterday.

The men fled from a house in Athlone by car after carrying out a theft there.

However, the Gardaí were alerted and gave chase from Athlone to Kilbeggan, finally stopping and arresting the men in Mullingar.

They were later charged with burglary, and will appear in court on Tuesday.
