Investigation launched into armed supermarket robbery

Gardaí in Dublin have appealed for witnesses to an armed supermarket robbery early today in which two members of staff were tied up and threatened.

Two raiders, one armed with a knife and the other believed to have had a gun, made off with a substantial sum of cash from the supermarket on Idrone Avenue in Rathfarnham at about 6am.

The stolen cash was in €5 and €10 notes.

Gardaí have carried out a technical examination.
