Five arrested after high-speed chase in Kildare
17/11/2006 - 09:21:38Gardaí have arrested five men wanted in connection with a series of robberies across Leinster following a high-speed chase in Co Kildare last night.
The chase began after a gang robbed a shop in Athy shortly after 8pm and fled in a stolen car.
The vehicle was pursued by local gardaí and officers involved in ongoing gang crime investigations under Operation Anvil and was eventually stopped in Prosperous.
Five men aged between 19 and 35 were arrested.
They are understood to be suspects in a series of robberies across Kildare, Meath, Carlow and Wicklow over the past six months.
