Taoiseach says Irish industrialists are changing their ways
The Taoiseach said today there are signs that Irish industrialists are slowly changing their ways, and reducing greenhouse emissions which contribute to global warming.
His comments came on the final day of the UN Climate Conference in Nairobi.
The Irish government has come under severe criticism in recent years over this country's failure to significantly reduce emissions.
But Bertie Ahern said it appears that the mindset in this country is changing:
“I was at a construction function in Dublin Castle with the leaders of the construction industry and they were very much into what they could do in the house building programme of looking at ecological matters that could help,” the Taoiseach said today.
“So I think if we get the mindset changed from saying 'we can't do it' to saying 'we can do it' then I think we can make great strides ahead.”
