Soldier pleads guilty in rape-murder of Iraqi teenager
15/11/2006 - 17:44:39A US Army soldier today pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against three other soldiers and a former private charged in the rape-murder of a 14-year-old Iraqi girl and killing of three members of her family.
Spc James Barker agreed to the plea in exchange for a lighter sentence other than the death penalty, his attorney said.
Prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty against two others in the case.
